Description

This is a barn from the 18th century located 25 meters north-north-east of Avington Farm Cottages. It features a timber-frame structure built on a brick wall and has an old plain tile roof. The barn is a very late example of a 5-bay aisled design, which includes a central porch with a midstray hip roof. To the right, there is a 19th-century shed that is covered in weatherboarding. Inside, the barn has sawn timbers and a queen post roof with straight braces connecting the posts to the tie and aisle plate, along with aisle ties and pad stones supporting the posts.
