Description
The boundary wall to Avington House grounds, located on the north side of the road, is an early 18th-century garden wall. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with random blue headers. The main section of the wall stretches 120 meters and stands 3.5 meters high along the roadside. At the western end, the wall turns north and slopes down to 2.5 meters over a length of 10 meters, featuring an early 19th-century wrought iron gate leading to the house. At the eastern end, the wall again turns north and ramps down to 2 meters, forming the western wall of the churchyard, which extends 70 meters before turning east to meet the southwest corner of the church.
