Description

Ivy Cottage is a late 18th-century brick cottage located in Itchen Valley, Avington. The brickwork features blue header chequerwork detailing, and the roof is covered with pantiles. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays, with a projection to the rear. A central 19th-century planked door is set within a solid frame and has a segmental head. There are two-light steel casement windows on each side, set within segmental brick openings. A blue header band runs along the first floor, with a panel in the centre, flanked by two 20th-century steel casements in original openings. A brick stack is located at the right end of the front elevation, positioned in front of the ridge, and another is set behind the ridge at the left end.
