Description
The pavilion, located 20 meters east of the conservatories at Avington Park, dates from the early 18th century and was extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features moulded brick that is now rendered, with lead and slate roofs. The pavilion has a square plan and includes a portico on the south side. Two bays were added to the rear in the 19th century, and two more bays were added to the side, behind a wall that leads towards the conservatory. The south front is a single storey, supported by four Doric columns and pilasters at each end, which hold up a full entablature. This entablature continues through to a low parapet with brick coping, and the corners are topped with ball-finials. Additionally, on the left side of the wall leading to the conservatory, there are two re-used 18th-century 12-pane sash windows incorporated into the 20th-century additions.
