Description

This is a well cover located in front of No. 4, The Row in Avington, dating from the early 20th century. It is constructed from timber resting on padstones and features an old plain tile roof. The well cover has a square plan with four corner posts, each supported by corbelled braces that reach the middle of each wallplate. The spandrels are decorated with fretwork designs of stars and hearts. The roof is hipped and topped with acorn carving.
