Description
Nos. 7 and 8 Hinton Hill are a pair of cottages dating from the 16th century, which were remodeled in the 20th century. They are constructed with a timber frame, featuring brick infill and brick on the ground floor, and have thatched roofs. The cottages are attached and consist of two single-bay structures, with the left cottage set at a lower level. Both cottages are 1½ storeys high and have two bays, with an outshot on the right side of the right cottage. Each cottage has planked doors located in the outshot and at the right end of the left cottage. The windows are 20th-century steel designs, with two and four lights, and a single casement in the outshot. Above, there are four eyebrow dormers featuring 20th-century casements with two and three lights. The roof is hipped and slopes down to the right, adorned with a decorated ridge piece. Each cottage has a large ridge stack at the right end and a projecting stack on the right end wall of the outshot.
