Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 16th century, with alterations from the 18th century and a remodel in the 20th century. It features a timber frame encased in brick and has a thatched roof with a tiled dormer. The building is 1½ stories high and consists of three bays, with an outshot on the right side. There is a planked door to the left of the center, which is sheltered by a flat-roof porch supported by timber brackets. On either side of the door are 20th-century three-light steel windows, with another window located near the right end. The cottage also has a 20th-century hipped dormer that contains a two-light casement window. The roof is adorned with a decorated ridge piece and has a swept-down hip on the right side. There is a large ridge stack over the inner right bay and an external projecting stack at the left end.
