Description
The Swan Inn is a public house located on Red Lion Street in Midhurst. It is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed building that has undergone alterations over time and is now faced with stucco. The first floor slightly juts out, and there is a gable at the north end of the west front. The building features a tiled roof and casement windows. The south end includes a 19th century addition. The structure has two storeys and contains four windows. This building, along with the adjoining Elizabeth House, is all that remains of an island block that once ran north from the former Market House in South Street.
