Description

Ewen House, originally known as the Red Lion Inn, is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed building that has been faced with roughcast. It now serves as four shops or business houses with accommodation above. The first floor oversails and the building features a tiled roof with casement windows and modern shop fronts. The section occupied by Malcolm Whiteheads includes a gable with carved bargeboards and an iron bracket that once held the inn-sign. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with a total of seven windows and one dormer.
