Description
The Parish Church of St Mary is located on the north side of Midhurst Market Square. The church features a chancel with north and south chapels, and a tower that replaces a south transept, topped with a low shingled spire. The base of the tower dates back to the 13th century, while the upper parts of the tower, the nave, and the arcades of the chancel were constructed in the early 16th century. Most of the church was restored in 1882, which significantly altered its character to that of the 19th century. The architect responsible for this restoration was Lacy W Ridge.
