Description
The stables, located 40 metres north of the Old Rectory in Droxford, date from the 18th century. They are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond, featuring blue headers, with openings that are rubbed flat and cambered. The end openings have architraves with ears at the head and cill. The stables have a hipped tile roof and a symmetrical east front elevation, which includes projecting centrepieces and wide pilasters. The brick doorframe has a stepped parapet and panel, with impost bands. There is one small window above the double door and one window on each side. The rear elevation features a hayloft door in a dormer above a double door. At each end of the building, there are lower extensions that lack features on the front but include a carriage entrance to the rear courtyard.
