Description
Post Office Cottage and The Street is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of brick and tile and have a timber-framed origin, which has been re-clad and extended. The front (north) elevation features one storey and an attic, with two sections above three windows, and a single-storeyed west side with one window. The roof is half-hipped at the west end and includes two hipped dormers with cills at eaves level, along with a large plain chimney stack. The walls are built in English and Monk bonds, with cambered openings and a stone plinth. The windows are casements. There are three plain doorways, two of which have gabled porches (one made of wood and the other of brick), along with two boarded doors and one door with four panels. The rear elevation is similar to the front. Inside, there is a cross-wall made of heavy framing.
