Description
Bolinge Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, originally built with a timber frame. It was extended in an L-shape during the 18th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. The walls are made of roughly-coursed malmstone, featuring a brick plinth, quoins, and cambered openings, while the oldest western unit is tile-hung. The roof is tiled, gabled on the original part and hipped on the later sections, which include a single-storeyed wing. The house has two storeys and irregular fenestration, with casement windows and plain doors. The main front, facing north, has been brought forward and features a 20th-century 'Georgian' facade made from matching materials. Inside, much of the frame is exposed in the oldest section, and on the first floor, there are two malmstone Tudor fireplaces with arch mouldings that stop in the lower jambs.
