Description

A former Poor House, later converted into six cottages and now serving as four dwellings, was built in the late 18th century. It has undergone late 20th-century renovations and includes minor rear extensions. The structure is built with Malmstone walls featuring brick dressings, quoins, cambered ground-floor openings, and a dentilled eaves fascia. Minor changes to features have been made. The roof is tiled, hipped in design. The building encompasses three sides of a rear courtyard, displaying two storeys with a regular fenestration of five windows on its three outer elevations, all housing casements. The street-facing elevation, to the west, has a central, coupled 20th-century porch with a concave metal roof and a half-glazed upper section above boarding. A stone plaque inscribed "Poor House 1794" is visible, accompanied by a lead fire-insurance sign positioned above it.
