Description

This is a terrace of three cottages located on High Street, Buriton. The core of the building dates back to the 16th century and was originally a timber-framed house. It was re-clad in the 18th century, and a further extension (number 10) was added in the 19th century, designed to match the original style. The walls are rendered, and the roof is tiled with scalloped bands, particularly visible on numbers 6 and 8. An 18th-century chimney stack is attached to the east gable of the building.

The south front has two storeys and a facade of six windows above four. The windows are casements. A gabled porch is centrally positioned; number 6 has a 20th-century canopy on posts, and number 10 features a gabled canopy on posts.

Inside number 8, the layout includes a lobby entrance, with visible sections of the original timber frame. Upstairs, there is a Malmstone Tudor-style fireplace with a moulded surround. Number 10 is included on the heritage list primarily for group value.
