Description

Two cottages, originally a late-medieval timber-framed hall with crosswings, largely refaced in the 18th century with 20th-century extensions added later. The main walls are of ashlar malmstone with brick dressings, while parts are roughcast. One wing (No 16) has a rear wall showing exposed timber framing and brick nogging. The roofs are thatched, with differing ridge levels, hips, and half-hips, and a lower eaves line in the middle, with a tile roof over a ground floor extension between the wings. The irregular front (south-west) has two storeys and a layout of 1.1.1 windows above 2.2 windows. The windows are sashes and casements, with one small, leaded upper window in the centre. There is a glazed porch to No 15, and a porch with a side entry to No 16.
