Description

Wheatley House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations in the mid-19th century. The property comprises two distinct phases of construction. The original northern section is two storeys high with a three-window front, featuring a single, smaller window at the upper level. It has a plain roof. The walls are of malmstone, with brick dressings, quoins, and some chamfered window surrounds. Casement windows are present. A former doorway has been blocked. The later, southern elevation is characterised by three gables, a three-window arrangement, brick dentil eaves and verges, and painted brick walls in Flemish bond. Stucco hoodmoulds and a plinth are also evident. Sashes with Gothic bars feature, along with a rectangular bay window on the west side and a narrow doorway on the east side. Entrances are located on the east side of the building.
