Description
Hoggatts is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a mix of wall materials and has a tile roof. The building includes a late medieval timber-framed hall that has had an inserted floor, along with a two-storey cross-wing. The front, facing west, has two storeys and 1.1 windows. There are two gabled dormers with sills at eaves level and a half-hipped cross-wing stack. The front wall is rendered over a brick skin attached to the frame, while the upper wall of the wing is tile hung. The windows are casements. A large porch from the 20th century has large windows and a half-hipped roof. The cross-wing displays exposed framing on its south and east sides, with painted brick infill. The north gable also has exposed framing and features a catslide roof at the rear. Additionally, there are 20th-century rear extensions, including a half-timbered section on the north wall, which connect to a mid-19th century circular oast house with a conical roof.
