Description

Ivy Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th century, significantly altered in the mid-18th century, with early 19th-century features and 20th-century changes. The front wall is finished in stucco, while the rear has tile-hanging from the 20th century above early 19th-century painted brickwork laid in Flemish Garden Wall bond. The house has a tile roof with brick dentil eaves, and the former rear catslide roof has been altered to a lesser slope.

The symmetrical south front elevation is two storeys high and features two windows with casements. There is an 18th-century panelled door in a plain frame, set within a 20th-century half-glazed porch. Above the door, there is a plaque inscribed with "B R S 1754." Inside, the house includes a timber-framed cross wall and a modest 18th-century staircase.
