Description

Kay's Farmhouse, formerly known as Hill Farm, is a house dating from the 17th century with a timber frame that has been reclad. It features early and late 19th-century rear wings. The walls are constructed of brickwork in English bond, with cambered ground-floor openings and some sections in Flemish Garden Wall bond. There is a small exposure of the timber frame in the west gable. The roof is tiled and hipped at the east end, with a large tapered stack attached to the west gable and gabled half-dormers. The south-west front elevation is one and a half storeys high and has three windows with casements. The entrance includes a six-panelled door in a plain frame, located beneath a tiled canopy supported by brackets. There is also another boarded door in a brick porch on the west side. The rear of the house has irregular three gabled extensions, with sash windows above casements.
