Description
Grey Tor is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with quoins, moulded copings and kneelers, and end ashlar ridge stacks, roofed with asbestos slate. The building is two storeys and attics, originally having four bays, with flush mullioned and transomed windows, but these were replaced with 20th-century frames containing top-hung lights. A blocked bulls-eye window is located above the central doorway, which has heavy quoining and a massive lintel. An inserted doorway to the north of the main door was later blocked, creating a window opening. Lower parallel ranges extend from the rear elevation.
