Description
This is a pair of re-used arches located at the entrance to a viewing platform in the garden, 20 metres south-west of Lomberdale Hall. They are made of early English stone and each arch stands approximately 10 feet high on low stone plinths. The arches are narrow with a tall pointed shape and are deeply moulded. They are possibly from Bakewell Church and were placed in the garden by Thomas Bateman, the archaeologist who designed and lived at Lomberdale Hall. These arches are included for their group value only.
