Description
Bluebell Cottage is a house from the early to mid-19th century, constructed from coursed and rubble limestone with ashlar sandstone dressings and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of a single cell, with a 20th-century wing set back on the left side. It features a plinth and large quoins. The entrance has a glazed door framed by a broad ashlar surround with a dripmould above. There is a window on the right side of each floor, each with projecting stone sills and horizontally-sliding sashes containing 30 panes on the upper floor and 24 panes on the ground floor, all set in ashlar surrounds; the ground floor window has a dripmould. A rock-faced stone stack is located at the right end of the building. On the left side, the windows mirror those on the front but are offset to the right. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage was originally part of a matched pair with Greenlands on Buxton Road.
