Description

The facing to the bridge over the mill stream at Lumford Mill is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed of dressed and ashlar sandstone and features an obtuse angled wall with two segmental arches that have raised keystones. There is a band beneath the parapet made up of three courses of ashlar. This structure spans the tail race of Lumford Mill, with water flowing beneath the mill yard to emerge at this bridge. It is associated with Scheduled Ancient Monument, Derbyshire County Number 12010.
