Description

The Methodist Chapel, dated 1811, is constructed from rubble gritstone with gritstone dressings and quoins. It features a stone slate roof, which has one truncated stack, and moulded eaves corbels. The building is two storeys high with two bays, plus a single storey 19th-century bay to the west. The doorway is located on the right and has a dressed stone surround with a plank door. Above the doorway is a datestone inscribed with "WESLEYAN/METHODIST CHAPEL/ERECTED/AD MDCCCXI." To the left of the entrance are two windows with small panes and casement lights, which have stone lintels and sills. There are two smaller, similar windows above. The interior features simple fittings and includes a gallery.
