Description
Church Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid-17th century and the 18th century. It is built of rubble gritstone, partly rendered, with gritstone dressings. The stone slate roof features stone coped gables with moulded kneelers at the east end, and there are two stone ridge stacks along with two gable end stacks. The cottage has two storeys and a south elevation consisting of three bays.
The entrance is off-centre, featuring a doorway with a stone lintel and jambs. The right-hand jamb also serves as the jamb for an adjacent glazing bar sash window set in a stone surround. To the left of the door, there is a 2-light square section flush mullion window with glazing bar sashes. Further left, another doorway with stone lintel and jambs can be found. Above this doorway are two 2-light square section flush mullion windows with glazing bar sashes, and to the left is a 19th-century single bar sash window.
