Description

Sycamore Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of square coursed sandstone and features a concrete tile roof at the front and a stone slate roof at the rear. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows are paired 12-pane glazing-bar sashes, which are separated by central sash boxes and set in plain stone surrounds. The door located between the bays has a stone surround with horizontal jamb stones beneath the lintel and vertical stones below. There are ridge chimneys on both the left and right sides of the house. The rear elevation includes two small ground-floor windows and a doorway. Inside, the left-hand room features a plain stone fireplace surround and exposed ceiling joists.
