Public house. 1577 and early C20. Coursed rubble gritstone with gritstone dressings. Stone slate roof with stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Stone gable end stack and stone ridge stack. Two storeys. Irregular south elevation, left part made symmetrical in early C20 with gabled stone and timber porch. Within the porch is another C16 doorway with bracketed hood. Flanked on each side by full height gabled bays with pseudo timber framing. To the right, a doorway with stone lintel and jambs and bracketed stone hood. The lintel is dated 1577. To the right, a C19 window set in part of a C16 recessed and chamfered surround. Above, a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. Inside, a fireplace with massive bracketed stone lintel. Listed for group value only.
