Description

The obelisk and memorial, dated 1862, is located approximately 50 yards south of the Church of All Saints in Grindon. It is made of stone and features a square section pillar that stands about 4 feet high, tapering slightly towards the top, which has a pyramidal shape. The north and south sides of the obelisk are inscribed with the words: "LORD of the Vill of GRINDON / established his right in this (obscure) at the Stafford Assizes the 17 March 1862."
