Description
The Gritton monument is an early 19th-century pedestal tomb located approximately 30 meters south-west of the west tower of the Church of St Giles in Goodrich. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a square base set above a concave surbase. The monument has a moulded plinth and capping that is stepped to create a raised pyramid shape. Each corner is adorned with gadrooned balusters, and there is a fluted frieze with reeding beneath the capping. The tomb includes plain rectangular inscription panels on all four sides, commemorating members of the Gritton family.
