Description
Whitehall is a house dating from the 17th century, with early 20th century additions to the south gable end. It features coursed, squared rubble and a rendered 20th century wing, topped with slate roofs. The building has a straight range aligned north to south, with a mid-19th century kitchen wing attached at the northwest and a 20th century addition to the south. The entrance is through a lobby. The house has two storeys and irregular fenestration, including 2-light, 3-light, and 4-light stone mullioned windows, some of which have leaded metal casements. There are moulded square-headed hoodmoulds above the windows, and the front has four broadly spaced windows. The second range in the gable features a small square set shaft at the apex, positioned to the right of the gabled porch, which has two heavy studded ledged doors. Inside, there is a fine cross-beamed ceiling, splat balusters, and a part-panelled dog-leg staircase, along with a large open fireplace.
