Description
This group of six headstones, dating from the early to mid-18th century, is located immediately to the west of the south porch of the Church of St Giles in Goodrich. Made of sandstone, the headstones are shaped and arranged in two rows of three. Most feature a winged cherub above a cartouche with a convex inscription panel. The headstone closest to the church in the eastern row includes two cherubs. The inscription panels are partly defaced, with the one to the north-west commemorating Thomas, son of William Budding, who died in 1713. These headstones are fine examples of local craftsmanship and enhance the overall setting of the church.
