Description

Hawley Bridge is a road bridge located 100 metres north-north-east of Harthill Lodge, built in 1775. It is constructed of limestone rubble and coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings. The bridge has two segmental arches with flush gritstone voussoirs and limestone rubble spandrels. On the west side, there is a semi-circular cutwater between the arches, topped with a rectangular datestone inscribed with the year '1775'. Above the arches, the bridge has coursed squared gritstone parapets that canted upwards towards the centre, finished with tooled semi-circular copings.
