Description
This cottage, located to the southeast of Dale Farmhouse, dates back to the 18th century. Originally, it was a single bay dwelling that included a stable with an overloft. The building is constructed from rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features a ridge stack on the south gable, topped with a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor is adorned with 2-light flush mullioned windows, while the upper floor has stone-framed single-light openings. A central doorway features a massive surround and a plank door. The north gable includes openings on both the ground and first floors, along with a 19th-century extension at the rear. The north bay, which was formerly a cowhouse, has been converted into part of the dwelling.
