Description

The Olde House and attached garage is a house and barn that dates back to 1615, with significant restoration in the 19th century and some minor changes in the 20th century. It is built of coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins, and has a stone slate roof with a stone stack at the east gable end and two ridge stacks. The gables are stone coped with moulded kneelers.

The building has two storeys and consists of two bays, plus a single bay garage to the west. The entrance features a chamfered flush quoined doorcase with a slightly arched head. The lintel is adorned with shields on either side and a central plaque inscribed with 'RF 1615', topped with a stepped, returned hoodmould. The entrance has a partially glazed panelled door. Flanking the door are three-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, each with hoods and 20th-century leaded lights.

Above, there are two coped gabled dormers, each with 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, and above each dormer is a coat of arms. To the west, there are 20th-century garage doors.
