Description
The barn located northwest of Eyam Hall is a Grade II listed structure that dates back to the late 17th century, with some additions and alterations made in the 19th century. It is built from coursed gritstone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins, and is topped with a stone slate roof that has moulded stone copings and kneelers on the south gable.
This two-storey barn consists of four bays, with a single-storey 19th-century addition to the east. The west facade facing the street includes a central 17th-century chamfered doorcase with flush quoining and a massive lintel. On the south gable wall, there are two 19th-century windows, both with timber lintels; the lower window is wider than the one above it. The east facade features a 17th-century chamfered doorcase to the south and a full-height 19th-century segmental-headed archway to the north. Additionally, there is an early 19th-century bay that extends at a right angle to the barn, complete with a flush doorcase and window.
