Description
Lane Side is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and ashlar, topped with a Westmorland slate roof featuring chamfered coped gables and moulded kneelers. The house has ashlar gable stacks and angle quoins. It is two storeys high with a double fronted south elevation that includes a central doorway with a massive lintel and jambs, leading to a half-glazed door. On either side of the door are two-light square section flush mullion windows with overhanging lintels and sills, and there are two similar windows located above. This building is included in the register for its group value.
