Description
Beresford Manor is a manor house dating from the 17th century, with early 19th century additions. It is constructed from coursed stone with ashlar dressings and features a tiled roof with three ashlar ridge stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, consisting of a 17th century range and an early 19th century cross wing on the right side.
The entrance front is a lower two-storey section with a three-window arrangement of mullioned two-light casements, and a central three-light window. To the right, there is a single-storey flat-roofed canted bay window with glazing bar sashes and a crenellated parapet that contains a blank coat of arms. The eaves are adorned with widely spaced paired modillions, and there is a string at the first floor level that steps down to an oven window with a Tudor-arched entrance. There is another entrance to the left of the bay window, both entrances featuring 20th century doors.
The taller two-storey wing to the right has moulded eaves and a hipped roof that is set at the same ridge height as the rest of the building. It has chamfered quoins and a first floor cill string, along with a two-storey canted bay window with glazing bar sashes, quoins, and strings at the cill level.
