Description

Hartington Bridge is an early 19th-century road bridge made of gritstone ashlar. It features a single span with a shallow arch, and the walls curve outward at the ends, finishing in octagonal piers. The arch is segmental and voussoired, with a sturdy moulded stringcourse at carriageway level that includes cavetto and roll moulding, extending to the edges around the piers. Above the arch, there are plain parapets with square-sectioned copings, and the piers are topped with shallow pyramidal copings.
