This is a mile post located opposite the Bentley Brook Hotel on Buxton Road in the parish of Fenny Bentley. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. The mile post has a triangular shape with a sloping top that rises to a straight back with a curved top. It is inscribed with the distances to various locations: London (141 miles), Derby (15 miles), Bentley Parish (2 miles), Ashbourne (2 miles), and Buxton (18 miles).
