Description
Coldwell Clough Farmhouse and Barn is a building dating from 1804, likely with an earlier core. It features a continuous roof and is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with flush gritstone dressings and quoins. The stone slate roof has gable end stacks and a bracketed, moulded wooden eaves gutter. The building is two storeys high with a three-bay front. There is an off-centre doorcase on the east side, which has a moulded architrave and a bracketed hood. The lintel above the door is inscribed with 'EB 1804'.
On the front, there are three three-light flush mullion windows with small panes, some of which have small central glazing bar sashes. Above these, there are three similar windows. To the east gable wall, there is a single-storey recessed addition with a parapet. Above the doorcase, there is an inserted plaque decorated with a flower and inscribed 'IB'.
To the west, the barn has two doorcases with quoined surrounds; one is flat-headed and the other has a four-centred arch. The west gable features a carved crouching animal ridge finial. The rear elevation includes two and three-light mullion windows. Inside, the building has stone flagged floors, some original built-in cupboards and shutters, and two large stone, bracketed fireplaces.
