Description
Church Lodge is a mid-19th century churchyard lodge, possibly designed by George Gilbert Scott. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a hipped stone slate roof with an ashlar ridge stack at the rear. The building is designed in a vernacular revival style and has a roughly T-shaped plan.
On the north front, the lodge is a single storey with symmetrical 1:1 windows. There is a small projecting gabled bay to the left, which has coped verges and a finial. The north front also includes a six-light mullioned and transomed window with returned hood moulds.
The south front features a gabled porch on the right that projects from the gable end of the rear wing. This porch has a half-glazed door on the right and a frosted top opening glazing bar window on the left. To the left side of the rear wing, there is a Tudor arched boarded door leading to a flat-roofed extension.
