Description

SK 15 SW ILAM C.P. ILAM 8/103 Mrs. Watts-Russell Memorial. 1.2.67. G.V. II*

Memorial. 1840 with C20 restoration. In the style of the Eleanor Crosses. 6-sided. Base stepped up to first stage consisting of trefoil headed panels flanked by nook shafts and with pointed crocketed hoods over; second stage has trefoil headed niches containing figures with crocketed pointed hoods over surmounted by crocketed finials; third stage is a C20 cross and cross shaft. Erected in memory of the first Mrs. Watts Russell by her husband. Occupies a prominent position in the later model estate village created by George Gilbert Scott.
