Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1855, likely designed by George Gilbert Scott. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a clay tile roof featuring shaped tile bands and crested ridge tiles, and has integral end stacks. The main house and kitchen wing are aligned from northeast to southwest, with a rear wing to the northwest and an extension to the southwest. The two-storey main house is on the right, with a projecting gable from the lower storey extension on the left, and a single-storey kitchen wing in the center. The main house and kitchen wing have a 1:2 window ratio, featuring glazing bar casements. The main house also has bracketed overhanging eaves and shaped barge boards connected by timber framework above collar level. This farmhouse is part of the picturesque Alpine style estate village created by Scott.
