Description
Dovedale House, originally known as "The Vicarage," is a residential centre built around 1840 in the Tudor Gothic style. The building features ashlar stonework and a slate roof with coped verges, along with ashlar stacks that have a diamond section.
On the east elevation, the house has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical arrangement of windows consisting of three sections. There is a central projecting gabled porch that includes a first-floor oriel window and an attic light above. The windows are mullioned with returned hood moulds and contain glazing bar casements. The porch has a central 4-centred arch with sunken spandrels.
The south elevation also has two storeys and an attic, featuring three mullioned windows with returned hood moulds that contain casements. To the right, there is a ground floor bay window, a large attic gable, and a gabled dormer on the left.
