Description
This building is a house located to the northwest of The Bowling Green Inn. It was originally two dwellings and dates back to the 17th century, with later modifications. The structure is made of coursed rubble gritstone, featuring quoins, an intermediate and north end ridge stack, and a kneeler on the north end gable. The roof is covered with Welsh slate.
The house has two storeys and four bays, displaying remnants of 17th-century mullioned and mullioned and transomed openings. The southern two bays now have 19th-century casements, while the northern two bays feature enlarged window openings and evidence of blocked openings. There are two doorways; one has a quoined surround and a blocked 17th-century single light opening with a moulded surround, while the other has 20th-century half-glazed doors.
At the northern end, there is a carriage arch with a semi-circular head, quoins, and a keyblock. The building is listed for its group value only.
