Description

Ivydene is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a plain tile roof. The building features large stone gable end stacks that have plain bands and cornices, as well as stone coped gables with plain kneelers. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, presenting a double fronted appearance.

On the west elevation, there is a central semi-circular headed doorcase flanked by Doric pilasters and topped with a broken pediment. The door is a 20th-century glazed type with a plain fanlight above. To either side of the door, there are plain sash windows with flush surrounds, and three similar windows are located above on the second storey. Ivydene is included in the listing for its group value.
