Description
Abbey View is a house located in Sneaton Village, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed sandstone, which was formerly whitewashed, and features a pantile roof with brick stacks. The building has a central stairhall plan and is one room deep. It is two stories tall with a three-window front. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight, flanked by 16-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there is a nine-pane inserted light situated between tripartite small-pane windows with central sashes. All windows have painted stone sills. The house has coped gables and shaped kneelers, with stacks located at the ends. Abbey View is included for its group value.
