Description
The School House is a mid-18th century building that was raised and altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed from squared sandstone, featuring herringbone-tooled quoins on the ground floor and bordered, snecked quoins on the first floor. The roof is made of pantiles and has brick stacks. The layout consists of a central stairhall plan, with one room deep and an outshut. The building has two low storeys and a two-window front.
The central entrance is a 20th-century door with an overlight, flanked by large-pane horizontal sliding sash windows with three lights. There is a fire window at the left end. On the first floor, there are smaller three-light, large-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. The ground floor openings are topped with tripartite keyed lintels, and the building features coped gables and end stacks.
