Description
Brook Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Brook Lane in Thornton Dale. It is constructed of dressed sandstone, with some areas featuring herringbone tooling. The left gable walls are partly rendered, and the building has a pantile roof with brick stacks, one of which has been rebuilt. The farmhouse has a double depth plan and is two stories high with a two-window front.
The central entrance features a four-panel door with an overlight above it. On either side of the door, there are 16-pane sash windows, while the first floor has a 20th-century replacement casement window with glazing bars on the left and a sash window on the right. All windows have stone sills and are topped with painted flat arches. The gables are coped, with shaped kneelers and end stacks on the double span roof.
